Prerequisites

All prerequisites must be completed by January 1 of the admission year. Each core prerequisite requires a minimum grade of 65%, with a 70% overall average across all 30 credits. Prerequisites must have been completed within the last 10 years. All required courses for admission are currently offered both online and on-campus at StFX, and many are available during all three semesters (fall, winter, spring/summer).

“The course must be from the Faculty of Arts [Humanities or Social Sciences]. The language of instruction must be English. At least 40% of the final course grade (excluding exams, smaller assignments, one-minute reflection pieces) must be based on students’ formal written work. Explicit instruction in academic writing and feedback on assignments that students can apply to subsequent drafts or subsequent assignments (recursive writing). There must be at least two written assignments per term each with 10 or more double-spaced pages of formal writing.”
